My name is Jan and I am lucky to live and work near the sea in Cornwall. I am the designer and maker of everything you see here on Gecko Crafts Cornwall.
I work with sterling silver, copper, brass and fused glass to create things that I find beautiful. I like to mix textures and materials and I’m always looking for new ways to work with existing designs.
My aim is to produce jewellery that is a little bit different which will appeal to those who who are tired of mass produced and want something a little more individual that has been made with care.
I don’t want to restrict both you or I to a small range of popular styles that I keep in stock, in all sizes. So for rings and bangles, which have the biggest possible number of variations, you’ll see ‘Available on Back Order’ a lot – this means that I’ll make this piece just for you and ‘make time’ is generally 7 to 10 days although most pieces go out in less than a week.
I’m happy to talk through ideas if you have something specific in mind that I don’t currently offer and many of my customers want to tweak a design slightly to make their chosen piece more personal to them.
